Where to Stay in Spring Lake, NJ
Spring Lake’s accommodation scene is as well-curated as the rest of the town. No big chains. No generic hotels. What you get instead is a collection of Victorian inns, boutique hotels, and B&Bs that all sit within easy walking distance of the beach, the lake, and Third Avenue.
Where to Stay
The Grand Victorian – Spring Lake (Icona Boutique Collection)
The most visually distinctive property in town. An oceanfront Victorian hotel with full and partial ocean views, beach towels, beach umbrellas, and direct beach access included. The staff is known for securing hard-to-get dinner reservations for guests. The ocean view from the terrace is the move.
The Breakers on the Ocean
Oceanfront and the right setting for a proper shore getaway. The enclosed porch with ocean views is a major draw. Rack of lamb at their restaurant is a standout. Dinner on the porch in the evening is the kind of thing you plan a trip around.
The Chateau Inn and Suites
Nestled between Divine Park, Potter Park, and the lake – just a short walk to the beach on tree-lined streets. A charming option if you want the residential Spring Lake feel rather than pure oceanfront. Continental breakfast included.
The Hewitt Wellington Hotel
A Victorian condominium hotel just south of downtown. Home to Whispers Restaurant, which is reason enough to stay here. Rooms are available from the owners, and the location is convenient to both the beach and the dining scene.
Spring Lake Inn
Victorian-style with a block-from-the-beach location. Wraparound porch, spacious rooms, complimentary beach gear, and a fireplace for shoulder-season trips. Homemade breakfast included. Deep soaking tubs, cozy atmosphere – one of the more romantically-inclined options in town.
Walden on the Pond
A Victorian hotel with lake and ocean views, two blocks from the beach and two blocks from downtown shops. Premium bedding, outdoor garden, private beach area. The location is ideal – close to everything but set back enough to feel removed from the noise.
The Tandem Bike Inn
A charming B&B near the beach and train station with well-appointed rooms, on-site parking, and a porch that guests consistently mention. Fresh breakfasts, 24/7 snacks, and hosts who actually know the town. Bikes available.
