About Shorehouse
Modern coastal life, edited.
We started Shorehouse where good things usually start: a notes app from a long weekend in Sag Harbor, a list of restaurants worth driving four hours for, and the realization that the guide we kept looking for didn’t exist.
So we made it.
What we believe.
A weekend out east should feel like a weekend. The right hotel makes the trip. The right linen forgives anything. A lobster roll tastes better the closer it is to the water. Gift guides should be specific, not exhaustive. The best recommendations come from someone who’s actually been there.
Founded by Leslie Denton.
Leslie founded Shorehouse from her house on the Jersey Shore. It grew out of Leslie Eats – a food site she started in her kitchen – and a long-running list of weekends out east. Same towns, same restaurants, same questions from friends. Eventually making a publication for them was inevitable.
Now she writes Shorehouse from a desk that looks at the water.
What we cover.
- Travel. Coastal towns, weekend itineraries, hotel reviews, hosted stays.
- Food. Restaurant edits, what to order, lobster rolls done right, coffee shops worth a detour.
- Home. Considered design, kitchen edits, and the objects that make a coastal house feel like one.
- The Edit. Gift guides, packing essentials, coffee table books, and the considered finds we’d share with a friend.
